An established design-build construction firm is seeking an experienced Travel Superintendent to lead field operations across commercial construction projects. The Role
The Travel Superintendent will serve as the on-site leader responsible for managing jobsite operations from project startup through completion. Success in this role means maintaining an organized and productive jobsite, coordinating subcontractors effectively, and ensuring construction activities align with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
This role works closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to maintain strong communication and ensure efficient project execution across multiple project locations.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage jobsite operations, including field office setup, site logistics, and overall site organization.
- Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure work aligns with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and support overall project schedule planning.
- Coordinate material deliveries, subcontractor activities, and procurement logistics.
- Participate in project meetings including Owner, Architect, and Contractor coordination meetings.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation alongside the project management team.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Oversee on-site quality control, inspections, and punch list completion through project closeout.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of commercial or industrial construction experience.
- Experience as a Lead Superintendent on projects valued at $5M or greater.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and field operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to implement and follow company policies, procedures, and standards.

- Experience using Procore construction management software.
